An invitation for Leagues and Clubs to attend two special Coach Workshops to be held at BCOT by Sports Coach UK. This is an exciting new coaching initiative to be launched in Basingstoke and it was hoped and strongly encouraged that league's and clubs would support this.

The Sessions consist of two 3 hour workshops at BCOT in Basingstoke, the first being classroom based (Wed 16/11/05), and the second a practical session (Wed 22/03/06).  Available to all coaches, from any sport and at any level, Session 1 aims to raise awareness around high quality coaching, by focusing on the 'soft skills' that all good coaches should develop, skills like good communication, questioning and listening, praising and giving feedback. This then encourages coaches to action plan to improve their coaching and Session 2 reviews that action plan through a practical exploration of these 'soft skills' using various tools to aid self-reflection. 

Although the cost of the course is £30 each, the Basingstoke Coaching Strategy Group have now agreed to fully fund the first 10 sports booking one place each via myself at basingstokelsc1@aol.com. It is felt that these sessions will benefit local sport and everything possible should be done to encourage sport representative attendance.

If each Major Club plus the league overall has their representative present then they can share the experience and knowledge with colleagues after attendance.
