Press Report #Xmas Shootout Christmas Shootout Fun Tournament at Essex Road 29th December 2011 Post-Christmas turnout was good with 24 entrants (stomachs protruding and weighed down with Turkey and Christmas Pud) organiser Bill (teabag) Bavister (first attempt at any sort or organising (his wife was on strike)) ably supported by Sue Thompson, Celia Hooker and Patrick Garlick then randomly split the players into 4 groups of 6 using their current handicaps with each playing one game to 21 with the top two going through to the next round. The final was contested by Prashanth Devarajappa and Steve Ng with Steve Ng winning by the slimmest of margins 21:20. Everyone was entered into a ‘free’ (must be a first) raffle won by the ever present Patrick Garlick – the prize being a ride on the Cresta Run and a free ice skating session at Bracknell Ice Rink.
