Press Report #13 Division 1 KGA vs KGC : 7:3 Some very close games with the stars being Steve NG (KG A) and Jared Binner (KG C). The first treble of the season for Steve Ng. The only player showing form for KG C was Jared Binner who played very well to beat John Ahlan with Matt Wilson coming alive in his last game to gain an excellent win over Johnny Ahlan. St. Peters A vs St. Peters B : 10:0 Jason White and Richard Mole (St. Peters B) both put up a fight against St. Peters A’s James Wright taking him to the 5th in both their singles. KG B vs Winklebury : 3:7 With John Golding off with flu and Colin Wilkes still injured Winklebury could only field a team of 2 again but still managed a good win against KG B. Queens A vs Oakley A : 9:1 With trebles for George White and Peter Martin – Queens A came away with a significant win against Oakley A. Louis Webb (Queens A) collected two wins, losing to Chaz Smith (Oakley A) who played well. Minitec A vs Alpha : 1:9 A good win for Alpha with only Gary Livingstone (Minitec A) managing to save Minitec’s blushes by beating Terry White (Alpha) in 3. Division 2 Queens Z vs Queens E : 6:4 A very good close match with Queens Z’s team of Dominic Ng, Nick Cheng and Callum Coombs coming out the winners. Queens D vs KG D : 5:5 According to the writer of the report – it was Queens D’s night. Nigel Cooper (time traveller) away training with the famous ‘Luton Town’ football team left it to the rest of the team to step up. Unfortunately team leader Lorraine Mortimer lost her first game going down 3:0 against Josh Manson (KG D) but Celia Hooker (Mary Poppins) back on form beating Mike Woods in 4. Tea Maker Bill Bavister went up against tea maker Holly Edwards who took the first 2 sets before Bill B decided to start playing to take the match 3:2. KG D won the doubles. The match ended in an honorable draw. Oakley B vs Portals : 1:9 Queens F vs St. Peters C : 2:8 A good result for St Peters. Tom Speed (St. Peters) managed victories against Melvyn Lovegrove and Peter Coppins both going to the wire. Division 3 Aldworth vs Queens J : 6:4 This was a re-arranged match from week 6.
